And about 20% too big!
I'd really rather have a smaller M2 (and a manual gearbox).
I don’t think it’s comparable until the M2 CS comes along. I'd really rather have a smaller M2 (and a manual gearbox).
This M4 CS is just a different level of performance and the current M2 is more mini M4 compared to the previous gen were the M2 was the better car.

Its about 500kg too heavy.....
What decade are you still in?!
BMW have only ever made one light(ish) M car, and that was the E30 M3 back in the 80's. However that still only had a poxy 4 cylinder NA engine in it though!(I'd personally take the E30 325i for its 6 cylinder engine over the E30 M3 for example).

Funny that… that’s what the M2 is for. I'd really rather have a smaller M2 (and a manual gearbox).

Can you spec it without the lipstick?
BMW must be familiar with the idiom “to put lipstick on a pig”Edited by pheonix478 on Thursday 9th May 03:20

Not really. I prefer proper 223 rem in rifle form rather than an SMG made from a tin can.
What on Earth does that mean? Some people get a little excited talking about it.
In case it needs further explanation, it was a jab at the "M3 > M4" but my miscalculation was the fact that I forgot that Brits will only get references to cars and football and not much else It might be a sign I'm working too long with Americans.

Looks a great package but the price seems properly mental.
I have just picked up a brand new M2 with the plus pack for £59k after discount which is half the price of this.

TX.
The M2 and M4 are now very similar underneath (hence the weight) other than the M2 having a shorter wheelbase and being RWD only.
Even the M4 CSL suspension bits are effectively a bolt on part to the M2 (if you wanted)
Personally, I am going to do an Evolve remap to circa. 600bhp (comes with a warranty) and fit coilovers but probably in spring next year once I have had a few months to get used to it...

Having driven both the new M4 Comp and M2 back to back I would strongly disagree unless the CS completely transforms the way the M4 drives.

My money would 100% go on the M2 also. I haven't driven the newest one but my only gripe about the previous one was the ride was atrocious and felt like it had no suspension at all, I guess if you're talking about coilovers on a brand new car, the new one isn't much better? The M2 and M4 are now very similar underneath (hence the weight) other than the M2 having a shorter wheelbase and being RWD only.
