It took the something like 120 miles for the cooling system in mine to clear out properly after the cross over pipes were replaced. I drove it home, to Duxford, the got most of the way home before the coolant level flashed up.
Not that uncommon a scenario on cars with this layout and more than likely where the OP is today. His car may well have left the OPC working perfectly well and the same issue you experienced later manifested itself, as it did in your case.
Something else the OP could no doubt have done without, but hopefully a quick fix and car ready in time to enjoy the weather.
I have no idea how my morning post just repeated itself
My car has been at the OPC for four days, and it would appear to be having miles put on it, according to the Porsche App.
But I’ve had no communication at all, nothing to say what the issue is and how they might resolve it.
I’ve asked the supplying dealer to explore options for moving forward ……

They are probably driving it around, preferably on a motorway, to get all the air out of it. Cool down, go again. But I’ve had no communication at all, nothing to say what the issue is and how they might resolve it.
Not much point in telling you anything until they are sure it is done, they have already come unstuck once they will be trying to not let it happen again.
Nearly there.

It was an independent Porsche specialist.
Interesting you mention Independent Porsche specialists . I had the 4.0 GTS into RPM Technic earlier this week for the 10,000 mile Oil and Filter change and was having a look around their stock even to the extent of discussing PX pricing . I suppose there must be hundreds of Porsche Enthusiasts buying Cars from Independent Specialists every year though to date its not something I have ever done . Is it a confidence thing , I simply do not know . That said my visit was a very pleasant experience at RPM Technic and I enjoyed browsing their lovely stock .reddiesel said:

They are one of the better Independents with a very good rep tbf. So, your car is out of warranty now and you've gone down the indi route for servicing now ?

Personally, I find the decent indie's prep their cars better than the OPC's. RPM Technic, JZM, 911Virgin, etc etc etc, they're all pretty good and seem more focussed on their reputation (therefore providing a great service) than the main dealers. Obv's no Approved Pork Warranty from an indie, but the good ones self-warranty. I bought a 997 GT3 from Cameron Sports cars once and they were great with a warranty claim for noisy dampers - they agreed for my own indie to replace all 4, geo etc, all on their dime richyd said:

I wonder how quick they would be to dig this deep, compared to what the OP will end up with, which would have been the same on a 3+ year old car? Forget this current final issue, which could easily have happened with anyone doing the same job.It all boils down to the numbers when an issue gets this expensive and the Porsche extended warranty is excellent if you have played the game by their rules.

No far from it .The car is barely a year old and RPM Technic nearby . I have had some negative experiences of Porsche Silverstone and Porsche Hatfield couldn't fit me in till June .So, your car is out of warranty now and you've gone down the indi route for servicing now ?
