A lovely part of the world and a lovely house.

Points deducted for those awful dinning room chairs and I can always choose not to create that much light pollution.

Shamefully cheap kitchen cabinets too... but at least you can toss the dining chairs on a bonfire without too much trouble

I would prefer the barn, simply because it looks like such a calming environment.

The sort of place I would look forward to coming home to. Just so I could, you know, /be/.


I wish suburbia allowed for that, but there's always noise and movement... And the tightness and poor layouts of mainstream homes means there's no negative space.

Perhaps the sign of having "made it" in terms of your home is space in which nothing has to be placed. Emptiness physically, but not spiritually.

Ah well, not for the likes of me...

Indeed. I find my own town centre apartment much more detached from the hustle and bustle of a suburban street such that most other people live, you are up away from the street level, so the default window view is rooftops not traffic.

Also no-one cares about your business or can see you coming and going, no twitching curtains etc.

It is also nice and quiet overnight, whereas when I lived in the countryside there were always bird scarers going off and grain driers running during harvest. Plus loud tractors driving down the road. Never lived anywhere so noisy biggrin

Yeah, I'd choose the barn over the big pile any day. I also get what you mean in respect of unused space, but for me, there's definitely a balance to be struck - I don't find huge amounts of superfluous space a desirable thing either.

Beautiful, love it... But, and a substansial but, is that most buyers spending 10mil are going to want more than 4 bedrooms.

Haha I hadn’t even noticed. Though if you scroll over there are quite a few guest rooms in the outbuildings.

I think pics 12-17 are outbuildings

As long as your guests are cool with sleeping in stables... I think it would take a good deal of work to make many proper bedrooms in the outbuildings.
A pity, because that aside, it's cracking.

I've walked along the river bank below the house a few times and it is very private, there's little road noise, some LGW overhead stuff, but walking distance to the pub, grammar school catchment area, short drive to the station (or walk the river bank to Tonbridge) and very appealing. Apart from the drapes.

No, if you look at the pictures a few of them are the outbuildings I think. They look like brand new holiday let type things.

Pics 12-17 are the outbuildings.
