Just shows that most people’s perception of risk is poor. I’m pretty sure you’d be fine with 99.9% of men. Not sure the same could be said of bears. That’s in terms of likelihood of something bad happening.
In terms of impact, pretty sure most people would rather fight a man than a bear…
I think the point is that the bear is just likely to maul you to death, which while incredibly unpleasant, doesn’t really compare to the physical and psychological abuse a man could do.In terms of impact, pretty sure most people would rather fight a man than a bear…
Bears just kill. Men torture, rape and kill.
I can see exactly why women would take their chances with the bear.
People who encounter bears - lucky to live, etc. But then again, the women posting this don't exactly go out into the woods frequently.
Incidentally, if one has to go down the path of statistics, the next most appropriate question would be to ask "what race is the man?"
And that of course ends the entire question and train of thought right there and then.
Perhaps the ladies were thinking of the Drop Bear.

Certain death or an awkward conversation with a stranger.
Fair one, I hate small talk too.
lol, me too.Fair one, I hate small talk too.
I’m an intimidating looking bloke (I’ve been told so, that’s not arrogance) who frequently walks and runs in nearby woods. If I’m on my own and not with my wife I make efforts to give a wide berth and smile etc if there’s a woman on her own. As I’m a regular I can nod the head and smile to most now but I’d hate to make someone afraid of me.
Annoys the st out of me if I’m with my wife as we’ll end up in a conversation with anyone who has a cute dog.

It seems that some girls aren’t afraid of bears…
The fact that social media and this thread are full of men explaining why bears are dangerous shows why women pick bears.
Bears are dangerous, men are dangerous and insufferable.
Also, it only really took off after dudes started getting annoyed at the responses. So take from that what you will

Made me think of this,
Bob, a hunter, went on camping trip with his wife, kids, and mother-in-law.
One evening, while still deep in the forest, the Mrs awoke to find her mother gone.
Rushing to her husband, she insisted on them both trying to find her mother.
Bob picked up his rifle, took a swig of whiskey, and started to look for her.
In a clearing not far from the camp, they came upon a chilling sight. The mother-in-law was backed up against a thick, impenetrable bush, and a large bear stood facing her.
The wife cried, "What are we going to do?"
"Nothing," said the hunter husband. "The bear got himself into this mess, let him get himself out of it
