Looking at his wife's instagram, it doesn't look like the Neweys will be at any more F1 races this year (at least in a professional capacity with red bull).
I'm sure he'd be welcome as a guest at another garage though TheDeuce said:
Rumours about Ferrari aside, that's the crux of it.
And I do think he's going to be at Ferrari. He's the kind of guy that either works or withers away..
But even if the impossible happens and he simply retires, it's still 100% an RBR loss. A big one. Whatever Horner claims...

But if he was going to retire, why go to all the hassle of hiring Eddie Jordan to mitigate his gardening leave and "no compete" clause in his contract. If you're planning on a world tour in your new yacht. You don't care about that clause, you just let it run out over the time you're spending in Cape town.
I get that he's burned out. But that detail tells us he's going somewhere else in time. I'd love for it to be Williams, with a lump of equity in the team instead of a big salary though. Just to see the reaction!
I did see another rumour that he was going to work on Ferraris WEC programme. But to be fair, that's already a fairly successful operation so no real need for him

It was widely reported this weekend Newey will no longer attend any F1 races and will see out his contract working on the RB17 hyper-car following Miami.
Red Bull say otherwise?Red Bull said:
He will see out this project [The RB17] until its completion and will continue to attend specific races to support the F1 team trackside to the end of the 2024 season.

He might jump at the chance to design a Ferrari yacht. A nice semi-retirement project after designing the car to win the 2026 & 2027 championships. But if he was going to retire, why go to all the hassle of hiring Eddie Jordan to mitigate his gardening leave and "no compete" clause in his contract. It'll just get hamstrung by BoP anyway that Ferrari are much more easily able to throw their weight around by other means to get a favourable adjustment than needing to hire Newey for it.....Muzzer79 said:

I think probably the latter, on the basis he has very little to add by being at races now, and his attendance is probably optional.

The RB PR this weekend was entirely designed to show happy unity and low risk of problems down the road. The Newey Brundle interview, Mintzlaff saying Horner's the best man for the job etc.
It's PR for public consumption and should be taken as such.
So unified they have to mention it every way possible and at every opportunity It's PR for public consumption and should be taken as such.

Granted, however this would seem to be an odd thing to lie about - who cares if he's attending races or not?

He's being paid and his job/exit negotiation place obligations on him (and he's a professional).
Of course, but we don't know what those obligations are. For all we know he's welcome to attend any races he chooses, but isn't required to do so.We can argue about how likely that is, but it's pointless as we don't and won't know the agreement in place.
