Aside from the comments about the looks (I liked my M4, Sau Paulo Yellow over Yas Marina Blue interior) for me the elephant in the room is the price per value.
I bought my M4 X Drive in March 2022, a year later - I struggled to get £60K for it. I would have, tried to buy an M3 CS - but in the end I bought a much safer bet financially and went for a - GT4.
If you want an M4 - get a very lightly used year old one, (it’s difficult to use them ‘hard’ on public roads - they do prison speed pace - pretty much everywhere, laughably so tbh) so a lightly used one is what you can get.
It would literally be half the price of this CS.
For me - even for me - who changes every 12 months, it would be hard to justify this kind of loss every year. Sure the dealers will tell you the CS ‘will hold its value better’ - but that’s not true, I was offered a CS M3 ‘just after I got the GT4’ for mid £90’s K.
I mean, if you want an M4 CS - go for it, but it does not make a great value proposition per M4 lightly used… imho…
TBF though the CS is usually much better. Whether it's worth £30k extra is down to the individual.I bought my M4 X Drive in March 2022, a year later - I struggled to get £60K for it. I would have, tried to buy an M3 CS - but in the end I bought a much safer bet financially and went for a - GT4.

I owned the previous gen M3cs, one of my favourite ever cars.
TX.
If you can afford it - do it..!
I was just reflecting - at around £50k a G82 M4 is a hell of lightly used proposition - if you want max forward & 4WD grip, they are good fun at that price point…
I liked the M3 CS, I would buy one - I can wait a bit though… I will buy an M3 - because saloon - at some point…
Mind you - my little GRY is a corking ‘good fun’ car… I’m very happy with it - versus the M4 and the GT4 of the last 2 years…

That colour is utterly gorgeous. The profile looks good, the wheels look good. The front is fking revolting.
Any matte colour awful IMO. The metallic version is lovely though. As is Alfas Montreal Green.
The Alfa Romeo Green Montreal is beautiful..they have used that to tart up this rather ugly BMW

What on Earth does that mean?
Rough translation ( i think...) They prefer a manual transmission that feels like the cocking of an old rifle when changing gear, opposed to that of a modern auto gearbox.Wills2 said:
Well you won't find that gear change action in any BMW past or present, as they are mostly woeful.
Oddly enough I was boring my wife at the weekend saying how the original Honda Jazz had a much more satisfying gear change than any BMW we'd owned and the irony in the types of people who buy them. Wills2 said:

I often think this about my standard F82 M4 as well, and obviously that isn't even quick in comparison to this. I feel myself occasionally holding back a bit in it, because you look down and you've passed the legal 70mph with just a twist of your toe for example.
That being said, I still really...really want a G82 M4 xDrive though for sure.
You'd probably miss the edge of the rwd m4 though, one of the things I loved about my F80 m3 was that feeling that it could let go IF you over did it, added a bit of zest to a drive (even though you had lots of grip to spare). That being said, I still really...really want a G82 M4 xDrive though for sure.
When you tipped it into a corner you could really feel the grip build up instantly down the side of the car I really liked that feeling.

This car was ugly, is ugly and probably remains to be ugly until the braindead designers are finally being fired.
And by the way nobody needs or wants a car with climate control functions in a menu. I have the M3 E92 which has a knob to turn. Whats wrong with that? Every idiot can handle that instead of cursing at f**king touchscreens.

To be fair there was never anything wrong with buttons and dials to control the heating (and many other things). The move to centralise on a screen is cost cutting dressed up as modernity.
Agreed. When you can see through it all (often from experience/the passing of time), you quickly appreciate it's simply another way of encouraging gullible people.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
