An interesting update to my tyre-based issues... My car was collected at the beginning of January for the recall above / found a tyre with a rogue nail etc.

Well, the dealer had put a crap wrap on it - or subbed it out - I mean, really poorly done that was starting to bubble. And, they were incompetent in fixing it i.e. their sub contractor continually failed to do anything about it over many months. In the end I took it to Topaz to sort. They had to remove the wrap, but found it to be highly 'gluey', to the extent they'd never seen anything like it before. In so doing, a 10p sized piece of paint came off one door and they found some bubbling of the paint on that same door.

Long story short, Maserati GB and Maserati it Italy have washed their hands of it; the dealer who I paid to do it i.e. it's on them regardless of where they sub-contracted it - don't want anything to do with it. So, £6k for the replacement wrap, £5k for fixing the door paint.

Oh, and I should finally get it back around the end of the month. This is the most w**k ownership experience of any car ever. I'm really sorry to say as much of Maserati, but it's no wonder they lurch from trauma to trauma over their existence - they don't appear to have the first concept of customer service, in line with some of their dealers (2 out of 3 that I've dealt with over the years have been dreadful for aftersales). Grrrr....

Jeez.. unbelievable behaviour. Was waiting to pounce on a 140/150k car as I thought Maserati might have finally turned the corner, but won’t bother now or ever. Maserati GB should have stepped in here..

Was it PPF or a colour wrap?

PPF (sorry - I know, sort of not interchangeable names!) - over the pearly white paint.

I mean a year old, a few thousand on the clock and any gremlins should've gone. They are blummin' good...when you have them! I'm mindful that my experience can put people off what is a very good car, but at the same time can only relay my experience, which is a great shame all round.

It sounds like you’ve been rather unlucky all in all. Why didn’t you just swap out tyres to P4S’s and be done with it? I read they are a better tyre for the car overall.

Has the car been fine mechanically? This car is on my radar as the next car option but it does worry me rather that a dealer will keep the car of the road with what are ultimately pretty simple problem to solve. Doesn’t bode well for more complex issues.

Mechanically no problems at all, but I've only done about 1000 miles in it. Equally, however, I've not heard of anyone having mechanical issues. Mine have been more of the aesthetic and customer service quality unfortunately.

Just to say that my MC20 has been faultless and remains the most exciting and bonkers car I’ve ever driven - it also gets the best attention too smile

Got mine back on Friday - only 3mths away! I've had it for no more than 50% of the time since taking delivery. Really frustrating, but hoping to enjoy it now through the summer........alongside taking action for recovery of the costs (but I won't air that on here!)

And the one thing I didn’t like was the heating controls being on the screen, but after 7 months and 3000 miles I’ve now discovered the voice control can change the temp even while CarPlay is on ..

Looks like the coupes have stabilised in the £150-160k area, gorgeous looking cars but I’ve never actually seen one in the wild yet so quite a rare bird it seems. Has anyone tried tracking them yet?

I have - it was an absolute weapon…
I had so much confidence in the handling.
Also Coupe production is finished apparently

Surprised by the notion that production of the coupe is finished. It's not a limited-run car, the Cielo only started delivering a year ago, they've developed the engine for this (plus for the GranTurismo) and as I recall an electric version is on its way this year. So not sure of the validity of this.

Have it on good authority via the US - no more orders being taken for coupes

Maybe no more for the US!? You can place factory orders in the UK and dealers haven't been informed of any stop to new orders being taken. Indeed, they're expecting a further special edition to come out later this year.
