Bought for £3,200 in August 2017 at 217,696 miles. Sold for £1,000 at 229,712 miles. 2026 Shock - it is on Autotrader with an Android head and big speakers for £8k no haggling but all the mechanical stuff that I thought beyond economic repair and a parts car now left for a punter to discover: valve stem seals, oil leaks, steering rack window, 9J front and rear, smokes and drinks and a few SRS warning lights - sad.

2025 Update - So my wife has had enough of the electrical woes and my daughter wants her blind to work - sold to a dealer telling him everything that was wrong with it.

2023-24 update. Apparently euthanasia is illegal so we fix it and I replace the door brake bushes, but more computer woes and now the OSR rear window and everything on that door is dead and a weird problem with ride height related to CAS.

2020-2021 update for my 2006 760Li
Is there a Dignitas for cars? Active air-spring-shock failed again. B-Pillar crash sensor. The oil-level sensor failed and a replacement from BMW also faulty. Firmware upgrade caused more problems than it fixed. Bonnet release. Brake-lines rusted. Computers waking. iDrive crashed unable to set date. Multiple sensor failures. Cyl 12 misfire that's 5 hours to fix. So, it's immobile and with the HiFi now dead I can't even sit and listen to music on the drive.
It draws 0.4amps, so a cable to a trickle charger is like life support. I'm beginning to think that pulling the plug would be a mercy killing.

2019 - I don't mind paying for brakes, clutches, tyres, oil coolers, aircon rads, windscreens. It is the endless messages warning of impending doom. Oh and when something is really wrong, think of a number and treble it.
2017 Jury is not in yet. In fact after 4 months it is still in the garage being fixed.
