Sold the 2014 model and got offered this.

2018 mid facelift with the updated Apple Play media screen and dashboard dials. Feel nicer inside than the earlier models.

High miles but has total history and has had anything it has ever needed.

My ideal interior with Ivory Leather and black dash, black carpets and piano black trim.

Drives really well, but as with any L405, it will need bits and pieces doing.

------------------------

February 2026:

Thought I would give an update on ownership experience so far:

These things are quite needy! After purchase, it needed an oil cooler and nearside drive shaft replacement - £2.5k.

Major Service at Main Dealer - £3k.

New Pirelli Tyres all round - £1200.

Overheating issue - requiring replacement of thermostat housing and all associated pipework, along with new ACE bushes all-round and front lower 'd' arms, new wipers - £2k

New Xenon bulbs - £150

Oil Service at Main Dealer - £300 (reasonable)

But, once all sorted, I will still stand by the fact that these are magnificent, 'do it all' cars.

Smooth, comfortable, refined. Quick enough. Low tax at only £190 per year, and will do over 400 miles on a tank, returning over 35mpg on long runs.

The cabin is always a welcome and soothing place to be, after a long, stressful day.

Advise is: buy on history and condition, not mileage. This has done almost 190k miles now, but runs better than those with half the miles, as it has been 'over-maintained'.

They are not cheap to run and require proper knowledge to keep them in fine fettle. Get issues sorted once they arise, otherwise they will manifest into several other issues, costing more.
