𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄
When Aston Martin launched its competitor to the 911 back in 2005, it was clear that the focus was rather different to Porsche’s aims for the posh Beetle. With a V8 engine, glorious styling and more than a little GT added to the recipe, it was a very Aston take on the sports car. Further developments followed over the lifetime of the Vantage with an enlarged 4.7-litre engine providing more torquey delivery than its 4.3-litre predecessor. Then, with the advent of the Vantage S, a little more power, revised suspension and a quicker steering rack made it a more focused drive.
Throughout the evolution of the Vantage, the ‘N’ badged cars (in reference to the Nürburgring) were limited run specials that introduced subtle tweaks to improve on the cars on which they were based and which, over time, have become increasingly collectible. Following N400 and N420 that preceded it, the N430 was based on the already very capable Vantage S and brought together a range of optional extras with a race team-aping paint job that was available in a range of colour combinations, with the green/yellow combination providing the closest link to the racing liveries.
The first owner of this example opted for just that colour scheme with Aston Racing Green and yellow lipstick, cant rails and mirror housings. One of only 58 manual N430 coupes in the UK, at least according to howmanyleft, it’s clearly been pampered all its life. There's a full set of main dealer stamps in the book and the current owner has kept on top of all aspects of the car with an air con service last month and a preventative corrosion proofing of the rear subframe last year. That there are a few small stone chips to the lacquer on the nose is just testament to the fact that it has been used a healthy amount over the last year, which is just the way that we like to see it and, aside from that, the car is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.
With the current owner now looking to move to a two car garage, this is your opportunity to acquire a beautiful example of one of the most highly-rated versions of the original Vantage.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿
● Open the swan door (which opens upwards away from any pesky kerbs) and a carbon fibre sill plate reminds you with the N430 logo that you’re climbing into something a bit special
● Inside, you’re greeted with black leather sports seats with yellow stitching and central stripe to complement the exterior highlights, and head rests embroidered with the Aston Martin logo, also in yellow
● The electrically adjustable memory seats are heated and have upper and lower lumbar adjustment
● There’s a full set of mod cons: Aston Martin Premium Audio with a six CD stacker, Bluetooth streaming, an iPod connecter, auto-dimming rear view mirror, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and Bluetooth for your phone
● The owner assures us that everything is in full working order
● When installed behind the leather wheel, there’s the yellow stitched dash to take in, complete with carbon fibre centre ‘waterfall’ console and integrated sat nav that rises from atop the dashboard
● Behind the seats is a useful luggage shelf which, when combined with the ample space in the boot, provides plenty of space for two occupants
● Condition-wise, there’s barely a mark on anything, including the Tailor’s Grey Alcantara headlining
● Overall, the interior exudes a feeling of sporting luxury and is very well preserved
𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿
● Famously the only other car aside from the DB9 to be admitted to the ‘cool fridge’ on a certain motoring-themed TV programme, the Vantage design has endured as one of the most beautiful modern car designs
● Being based on the later 4.7S, the N430 has V12 side skirts and 10 spoke lightweight alloy wheels which fill the arches very nicely
● The colour scheme of Aston Racing Green and yellow highlights (which are painted on, not stickers) is a direct reference to the Aston Martin works team colours
● Yellow brake calipers sit behind the gunmetal wheels to complement the painted highlights
● Carbon side strakes sit well with the dechromed window surrounds that are also part of the N430 makeover
● While there are a few small chips to the paintwork on the nose and bonnet, overall it presents very well indeed and looks fabulous from any angle
● The wheels are unmarked as far as we could see and the OEM Bridgestone tyres have very good tread on the front and plenty on the rear
● In all, it’s a great looking car that is a real head-turner and is in excellent condition
𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹
● 4.7-litre V8 in 430hp state of tune, as the name implies
● It sounds fabulous through the ‘S’ spec active exhaust which retains the electrically-operated flaps to help to keep it quiet through towns and villages
● The engine drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, while hydraulic steering provides a level of feel that can be absent from modern electric systems
● Sport mode is accessed via a button on the centre console to sharpen the throttle response and open the exhaust flaps lower in the rev range
● As a precaution, the rear subframe was cleaned and treated last year to prevent corrosion
● The car has been extensively maintained, used regularly over the last year and recently serviced which means that it’s ready to be enjoyed by the next owner
𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆
If the appeal of a manual V8 sports car with looks to die for and an impeccable service history escape you, then you may be in the wrong place. The fact that it has a blue-blooded badge and is in a colour scheme that pays tribute to the marque’s sporting achievements only make it more special.
In a world that’s gone ever more towards forced induction and electric propulsion, it may be something of a throwback, but the soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission and, as a package, it takes some beating.
With the reassurance of a full main dealer history and in fine condition, a bid on this one would be a head and heart decision. Don’t miss out.
