• Beautiful example of the 4.7-litre Aston Martin Vantage V8 Sportshift • 420hp and a noise to die for • Just 35k miles • Full Aston Martin Service History • Fantastic condition

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 When you insert the key fob into the dashboard of an Aston Martin Vantage V8, the dashboard displays the marketing tagline of the time, “power, beauty, soul”. Cheesy? Maybe a bit. But when the engine fires with a magnificent flare of revs and settles into a mellifluous burble, you can mostly forgive the hype and appreciate what they were getting at. Power in this case comes from the 4.7-litre version of the AJ-V8 which was launched in 2008 to a plummeting market in the face of the financial crisis. Sales were thin during this period for Aston which makes a 2008 car something of a rarity. The release of the larger engine also coincided with the introduction of the option of an automated manual gearbox, as we see here. It takes a little acclimatisation to get the best from it but is rewarding once you’ve learnt its ways. On the topic of beauty, this is the only other model to sit in the “DB9 fridge” which sat alongside the “Cool Wall” on a certain popular motoring-themed TV programme. Over the years, there were a number of subtle changes to its appearance, with changes to the front, rear and side skirts. Which you prefer is largely a matter of taste but there is a lot to be said for the original side skirts we see here which maintain the curvaceous lines of the design at launch. As for soul, well, when you drive one, you’ll certainly experience a huge dollop of character that undoubtedly sets it apart from its competitors, the Germanic ones in particular. The sharpened chassis that accompanied the updated engine is very capable and the whole experience is accompanied by a thrilling soundtrack. The stereo’s decent, but it’s largely superfluous. This example has seen just four owners and has been serviced religiously each year at Aston Martin main dealers which shows a level of pampering that is reflected in its condition. There are a number of highly-regarded independent specialists that can provide servicing at lower rates than main dealers so to have maintained an Aston-only history to this point shows that the four owners of this car have spent a great deal looking after it. We think you’ll struggle to find a nicer example of the rare 2008 Vantage Sportshift.

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 • Registered 1 Nov 2008 • Four owners in total with the current owner taking possession in October 2019 • The service book shows a full Aston Martin Service History with stamps showing services as follows: Oct 2009 @4,819 miles, Nov 2010 @12,223miles, Oct 2011 @19,904 miles, Nov 2012@25,231 miles, Oct 2013 @26,974 miles, Oct 2014 @27,609 miles, Oct 2015 @28,019 miles, Oct 2016 @29,607 miles, Nov 2017 @30,968 miles, Oct 2018 @32,169 miles, Sep 2019 @32,801 miles, Sep 2020 @34,516 miles, Sep 2021 @34,924 miles, Sep 2022 @35,189 miles, Sep 2023 @35,475 miles • Invoices are provided for servicing under current ownership • Owner’s manual • Glass key, plastic key and valet key • Current MOT with no advisories expires 24 Sep 2024 • HPI clear • London ULEZ compliant

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 • Much like the exterior, in our opinion the cabin design has aged gracefully and retains an air of luxury as well as sporting intent • The dashboard and door cards are covered with leather sourced from Swedish cows, where they apparently don’t use barbed wire, to avoid imperfections • Attractive white stitching adorns the sports seats which are in excellent condition with no marks or tears • Up above, the Tailors Grey suede headlining helps to reinforce the luxury feeling • The shift paddles are mounted to the steering column rather than the wheel, so that you always know where to find them • Behind the front seats is a useful shelf which we can report from experience has a significant capacity for bottles of reasonably priced French wine • The practical boot adds more booze cruise or golf club capacity and the floor is protected by an overmat; it all looks very neat and tidy • In all, the condition of the interior clearly reflects the level of care and attention that has clearly been lavished on it and the owner reports that everything works just as it should

𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 • No need to open the door of the Cool Fridge, this design can stay firmly inside • Finished in black with just the right amount of chrome highlights and silver wheels and red rear lights, it’s a timeless look • The paintwork is protected by protection film on all the leading edges and so it’s still in excellent condition • Five spoke alloys allow plenty of access to check out the grey Aston Martin-branded callipers and look to be unmarked all round • Tyres are Bridgestones on the front with 6mm of tread and nearly new Michelin Pilot Sports at the rear (marking out an owner who’s done his research – most regard them as a significant upgrade over the OEM Bridgestones) with 7mm of tread • A recent inspection of the underside shows it all to be in excellent order • Overall, it’s in beautiful condition and is a real credit to its owners

𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 • In an engine bay that’s almost as clean as the exterior is the 4735cc AJ V8, situated as far back as it will go in the name of weight distribution and rated at 420hp • Sportshift six speed automated manual gearbox • The rear wheels are driven via a carbon fibre prop shaft and limited slip differential • The owner reports that the battery has been maintained on a trickle charger and that the engine starts first time • There is one small mechanical issue to report: the offside exhaust bypass valve is seized in the open position, probably as a result of a previous owner removing the fuse that operates them; in agreement with the dealer, this has been left alone as it just results in a better sound throughout the rev range and frankly we’d just remove the fuse to open the other valve! • As expected, the car sounds glorious and performance is apparently as responsive as one would expect, both in terms of acceleration and braking

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 Despite now being relatively affordable, at least compared to their price when new, the Aston Martin Vantage 4.7 is still a car that can make you feel a million dollars whenever you climb aboard. They look and sound gorgeous and, with the power and torque of the 4.7 litre engine, are still lively performers. This example has obviously been lightly used and heavily pampered and we hope will be cherished by its next owner as much as it has been to date.
