Overview

Usually, one of the first things you might do when nonchalantly perusing an online auction listing is to check the car’s mileage. And that would make you a very wise and sensible bidder. But when you dig a little deeper you’ll soon realise that this car was treated to a full engine rebuild in 2019.

Back in the analogue days of yesteryear, this would have been accompanied by resetting the odometer to zero, but with such shenanigans no longer possible on ‘modern’ cars such as this 2008 DB9, we’ll have to leave it up to bidders to decide how to treat this car’s mileage figure.

And when we say the engine has been rebuilt, it hasn’t just had its cylinder heads off and a couple of new gaskets fitted. Oh no. When the invoice includes items such as ‘new crankshaft’ you know that this engine has been rebuilt from first principles.

On the outside, the car is finished in Onyx Black — which features an attractive metallic shimmer — and has been professionally ceramic coated for protection. So it’s the kind of car you’ll be proud to arrive in, even at the swankiest of venues.

The interior features cream and black leather throughout, with the dashboard upholstery having been refitted to bring it back to nearly-new condition. The driver’s seat could benefit from its pale hide being cleaned, but otherwise the interior is very presentable throughout.

So if you’re looking for a very useable example of what many refer to as the first modern Aston, then this DB9 has a lot to offer.
