Overview
When Porsche released the first Cayman GT4 into the wild back in 2015, tongues wagged and indeed, necks snapped, not just from the sheer performance of the thing but also due to its handsome lines as passers by clamoured to steal a glance.
Fast forward four years and those Stuttgart savants went for round two with the 982 generation (also known as the 718, because Porsche). Many wondered how on earth Porsche could improve upon the frankly awesome 981 Cayman GT4 but we were all blown down with a feather because the latest 718 Cayman GT4 is nothing short of spectacular.
The fundamental characteristics remain (if it ain't broke...), which means a six-cylinder, naturally-aspirated boxer engine and, initially at least, a six-speed manual gearbox, but the latest version of said engine is larger and more powerful than its predecessor thanks to an increase in displacement to 4.0-litres, meaning peak power now sits at 420bhp.
Another marked area of improvement is in the aerodynamics department with Porsche claiming that the new Cayman GT4 has 50% more downforce than the 981 which means greater stability at speed, and let's be honest, speed is a lot of what the Cayman GT4 is all about.
This particular 2020 manual example not only looks purposeful with its jet black, ceramic coated paint job but has also been subtly modified. A fast road geometry setup, performance exhaust and remap which, has upped the car's peak power by 40bhp, all without affecting the Porsche warranty, add to the car’s already considerable appeal. Furthermore, the well-chosen set of upgrades also considerably improves the sound of that six-pot boxer engine.
With a fully stamped service book and impeccable maintenance records, not to mention a recent service and an advisory-free MOT until March 2026, this Porsche Cayman GT4 is ready to rock and roll.

Summary
The Porsche Cayman GT4 is eminently drive-able, whether clipping apexes or navigating a twisty B-road, and therein lies its charm. You don't need to be a pro to enjoy the GT4 and it remains a thrilling experience whatever your skill level. This particular car, what with its stunning overall condition, full service history and those performance tweaks, makes for a very tasty example of the marque indeed.
