Overview
Aston Martin has long been in the habit of creating handsome and elegant grand tourers. However, the V8 Vantage was something a little different when it was launched – a direct attack on the sports car hegemony. Aston’s eyes were fixed firmly on Stuttgart in particular.
A heady target, but not one without merit. With a howling atmospheric V8, fine handling and gorgeous styling – not to mention the cachet of the Aston Martin nameplate – the Vantage was always going to be desirable. But no one could have predicted quite how much of a success it would be.
In reality the Vantage is more “fast-GT with a dash of muscle car” than out-and-out sports car. But when most modern sports cars are primarily kept on the road by a hivemind of computers and feel decidedly digital, that lovely V8 twinned to a traditional rear-wheel drive chassis feels deliciously analogue. It’s pure and refreshing in a way that we may never see again.
This example is a stunner too – it’s been well driven, cared for meticulously and maintained religiously. Precisely what you want from a high performance GT. And let’s not forget the specification, that shimmering metallic blue over stunning red leather upholstery is a hell of a choice, but to our eyes it works magnificently. And, of course, the Vantage is as pretty as it’s ever been. If anything, time has been exceedingly kind to the styling, which looks at once classical and bang up-to-date.
Presented in lovely condition, with an eye-catching spec and a cracking history, this is definitely one not to miss.

Summary
Suave and stylish, with a brutal and invigorating edge, few cars are as universally adored as the V8 Vantage. We have no trouble seeing why it’s so adored either: it’s a muscular performer that’s just as happy cruising the streets of Knightsbridge as it is whisking its way to the south of France or attacking apexes on the Nordschliefe.
Presenting very well, finished in a uniquely appealing specification and benefitting from a fine history, we think this debonair coupé ticks an awful lot of boxes. And that’s before you even turn the key and hear that incredible V8 bark and rumble into life. Intoxicating doesn’t even begin to describe it.
In our opinion, this is a nailed-on future classic, as well as being a very rewarding machine to own and drive right now. In a world of ADAS and engine noise fakery, this is proper, old-school British engineering, replete with elegance and soul. And it’s all the better for it.
