Overview

The Toyota GR Yaris is very much a modern day hot hatch that harks back to the glory days of the 1980s when legends like the Peugeot 205, Golf GTI and Renault 5 Turbo, to name but three, were battling it out for the original crown. Encapsulating everything that made those machines so great and catapulting it all into the modern era – complete with all of the necessary technological wizardry and typical Japanese reliability – the GR Yaris is a worthy successor.

Who would have thought, though, that in 2020 Toyota would take its economical family subcompact and hand it over to its Gazoo Racing motorsport division to turn everything up to 11 with the help of multiple World Rally Championship winner and all-round racing legend Tommi Makinen? As is the case with so many souped-up symbols of excitement though, we have the aforementioned WRC to thank, and the GR Yaris was produced as a homologation special so that Toyota could compete once more. 2,500 260bhp, 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder GR Yaris models were built for this very purpose and with all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox the standard road-going versions could dispatch 60mph from parked in a mere five-and-a-half seconds. 

But then this rather stunning 2022 example is not exactly standard. A factory Circuit Pack model the car has further been significantly and functionally modified with myriad performance and interior upgrades that fully exploit the GR Yaris' true potential. From improved braking and fully beefed-up AST suspension to breathing mods and an ECU tune, the full list can be found below but suffice to say this is one seriously sorted example that’s been set up for fast road and track use. Coming to market in excellent condition throughout and with comprehensive main dealer service history as well as a recent MOT and full inspection under its belt, we think it’s a bit special.

Exterior

• The car is in excellent condition all round

• All shut lines remain uniform

• Slight marking to nearside front wheel arch where a dent has been repaired

• Minor dent near the window line on passenger door

• Paintwork presents well across all panels with PPF applied as reported by the vendor

• All windows and light lenses are in good order

• Cusco front and rear towing eyes (included with sale but not always fitted)

• Wedsport TC 105 X 18x9" ET32 5x114.3 ten-spoke wheels with RAYS steel locking wheel nuts are all in superb shape with no apparent kerb damage

• Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 tyres all round which the vendor reports are all usable and not in need of replacement

• Second set of OEM forged alloy wheels in good condition included with MPS4S tyres with plenty of tread as reported by the vendor

• The underneath looks to be in excellent condition with only the usual very light surface rust to some lower suspension components to note
