Overview

People seem to chuck the term “timeless” about rather willy-nilly nowadays but with the DB9 we really do think it's a fitting designation. When Aston Martin unveiled its new V12-powered GT all the way back in 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, punters and press alike were suitably impressed. Fast forward 23 years and it's still a car that has the innate ability to turn heads, not just for its brutishly handsome good looks but also for its stunning performance and excellent driving characteristics. 

Replacing the now rather elderly DB7, when new the DB9 was a huge step forward and was both lighter and stiffer than its predecessor. So far advanced was it that Aston Martin eschewed the sequential DB8 moniker and skipped straight to 9! (Plus they didn’t want to confuse buyers into thinking it was equipped with merely 8 cylinders). The now-legendary 5.9-litre Aston Martin V12 delivered 450bhp and was perfectly suited to the DB9's GT credentials, allowing for a 4.7 second 0-60mph time and a top speed of 186mph.

This early, low mileage, low owner Aston Martin DB9 is a bit of a unicorn spec car, being as it is a rather rare six-speed manual-equipped California Sage metallic over Moonstone Shadow example, a car that is believed to be the only manual coupe in this colourway. In stunning condition both inside and out and meticulously cared for, the car comes complete with comprehensive Aston Martin main dealer service history from new, showing no less than 17 service stamps over the course of its 21 year life.

Last serviced in July of 2025, this beautiful DB9 has since benefited from a new battery, radiator, idler/tensioner bearings and a fresh serpentine belt as well as a new A/C condenser and recharge. Clearly wanting for nothing and with an AMS Edition X-pipe fitted to make the most of the delicious-sounding V12, this is an outstanding  example of one of Aston Martin's best that sounds just as good as it looks.
