Overview

There's just something about a big, naturally aspirated V8 that really does get the old juices flowing and Mercedes-Benz is one of the best to ever play that particular game with its W204 AMG C series. The first of its kind (and still arguably one of the greatest) the AMG C63 was a total game changer. Mercedes took its smallest saloon and chucked its biggest engine at it, producing one of the most glorious performance-oriented road cars in the process.

With 6.2-litres of displacement the M156 V8 in the C63 AMG produced a whopping 451bhp and and 442lb ft of torque which equates to a 0-60mph time of just over four seconds. Still an impressive amount of performance today but for those looking for even more oomph, as well as an added layer of exclusivity, the limited production 507 Edition, like this particular example, is even more alluring.

With an extra 49bhp over the standard car thanks to an updated ECU, new conrods, a lightweight crankshaft and forged pistons, the 507 produces 500bhp and comes with a host of additional enhancements, including 19” forged alloy wheels, 360mm composite brake discs and various exterior tweaks. Beautifully built and gloriously engaging when pushed, the 507 can also do “normal” driving incredibly well, making it a real Jekyll and Hyde machine.
