Overview

Some would argue that the Audi R8 is the thinking person's supercar and they may very well be right. Some exotics are bought on looks alone, some are purchased for their performance, others for their heritage. The Audi R8, however, covers all bases. Before the R8, cars of this calibre were habitually produced by manufacturers like Ferrari and Lamborghini rather than the more composed, technologically focussed Germans but what Audi did with the R8 is nothing short of magnificent.

Beginning life with a V8 engine and a manual gearbox the Audi R8 continuously evolved over its 17 year production run with a major uplift arriving in 2012 with the introduction of the V10 Plus model. Ushered in as part of the first generation Type 42 facelift, the aforementioned V8 was replaced with a 5.2-litre V10 producing almost 550bhp, along with a host of other styling and interior tweaks and technological enhancements, including a trick seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.

Capable of hitting 60mph from parked in a shade over three seconds, as well as a top speed of almost 200mph, performance is suitably ludicrous but it isn't just straight line speed where the R8 V10 Plus shines. Oh no. With a wonderfully balanced, lightweight aluminium chassis, carbon ceramic brakes and sportier, stiffer suspension, it behaves impeccably too. 

This 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus comes to market with comprehensive Audi main dealer service history, including an additional full major service in April 2026, as well as an impressive MOT record. Presenting in stunning condition both inside and out this particularly low mileage example has covered less than 15K miles since new and retains its originality throughout. Reportedly operating just as it did when it left the factory due to the way it has been cared for and maintained, it looks to be an excellent representation of one of Audi's best.

• Factory 19” alloy wheels present very well but the front nearside had a slight paint scuff which has been touched in, as reported by the vendor

• Tyres are a mix of Continental Contisport Contact and Bridgestone Potenzas on the rear along with Michelin Pilot Sports on the front which the vendor reports are all in very good condition 

• Underneath looks to be in fine order with no apparent damage to any of the undertrays or aero

• The vendor informs us that the carbon ceramic brakes are in excellent condition

Summary

As emotional and dramatic as a full fat Lambo but with a level of refined usability inherent in any modern Audi, the R8 V10 Plus delivers in spades across the board and remains an incredibly versatile beast. Very well put together and with mature styling that we doubt never wane, the car exudes quality and this particularly low mileage example is an absolute peach. That service history is an obvious boon, as is the car's overall condition and it ticks both collector and enthusiast boxes with aplomb.
