Overview

When the Toyota GR Yaris arrived in 2020 it restored a lot of people's faith in the hot hatch. Here was a proper motorsport-derived homologation special with a 260bhp, 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine and four-wheel drive that could easily cut it with much more exotic fare and it remains an excellent slice of refined hooliganism to this day.

Developed by Toyota's Gazoo Racing motorsport division with help from none other than legendary WRC icon Tommi Makinen, the GR Yaris definitely has the right credentials but it was the GRMN edition that is arguably the ultimate evolution of the original GR Yaris. Built in extremely limited numbers and engineered with a clear focus on performance, weight reduction and driver involvement the GRMN Yaris certainly ticks a lot of boxes. 

Featuring Increased engine torque, a refined close-ratio gearbox and reinforced metal clutch, lightweight CFRP panels, tuned suspension and increased body rigidity the GRMN edition offers less weight, more rigidity, more grip and more control than a standard GR Yaris, giving the car a much more focused setup. Offered exclusively in Japan through a lottery system the GRMN Yaris was limited to just 500 cars worldwide making it an especially rare and collectible model.

This particular 2023 example has been freshly imported from Japan into the UK and presents in excellent condition throughout. Wholly original and having covered less than 3K miles from new the car comes with its original service book, a copy of the auction sheet (Grade 5) and export certificate. Reported as driving exactly as it should, this is a wonderful opportunity to own and enjoy an eminently capable and incredibly rare slice of Toyota performance history.
