Jensen Interceptor Interceptor II
Leather Trim, 15'' Alloy Wheels, Mini-Lite style Alloy Wheels, Rear Disc Brakes, Front Disc Brakes, ULEZ COMPLIANT, Electric Windows, Power Assisted Steering, Rear Wheel Drive, 3 Speed Automatic Gearbox, Wooden Mota-Lita Steering Wheel, Air Conditioning The Jensen Interceptor was launched in 1966 with stunning styling by Touring of Italy, a hand-built body by Vignale in Italy, American (Chrysler) V8 power with a super-smooth automatic gearbox, and hand-built by English craftsmen at the Kelvin Way Factory in West Bromwich, near Birmingham. Although Jensen soon took over construction from Vignale, all Interceptors remained individual and these built-to-order cars were produced in probably more different paint colours than any other model. They also had a wide range of trim options and innumerable specification variations which is why many of them had individualistic celebrity owners. The Interceptor II had a naturally aspirated 6.3 Litre 16v V8 producing 325 BHP and gave the car a 0-60 mph time of 6.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 140 mph. This beautiful Jensen Interceptor II - Chassis No: 123/3933 and Engine Number: 3342/123E is a 'Matching Numbers' car and was hand-built at Jensen's Kelvin Way Factory in West Bromwich, near Birmingham in England between 9th-29th September 1970 and despatched on 20th October 1970 to Jensen dealer Guy Salmon Ltd of Teddington and delivered to its first owners - Fruit Wholesalers - Simons & Co Ltd, 4 London Fruit Exchange, Spitalfields, London E1 and registered on 19th November 1970 with the number plate XKJ 835J. The car was exported to South Africa just over 40 years ago, and it has only had 3 owners in South Africa during all of this time with the last owner, a Mr N F Veldman of Port Elizabeth having bought the car in April 2001. He commissioned a recommissioning/restoration of the car soon after buying it and works involved a full repaint of the car and changing the colour from its original Cerise to White, re-upholstering the interior in black leather + lots of cosmetic improvements. WE were advised that the car has only covered a genuine 85,414 miles from new, although this cannot be authenticated without a full history file unfortunately, but there is no reason to disbelieve this. The car is in lovely condition throughout and has beautiful body and paintwork, a really nice Black leather interior, Black carpets, Air Conditioning, Electric Windows and Tailgate release, a Wooden Mota-Lita Steering Wheel, its original 6286cc V8 Engine with a 3 Speed Automatic Transmission, Power Assisted Steering and rare 15'' centre-lock Mini-Lite Alloy Wheels with Jensen spinners. We purchased the car directly from the owner via a dealer in Cape Town last summer and It has now been re-registered with the DVLA on its original 1970 English number plate XKJ 835J and is now ready for its next owner to drive and enjoy. Upon sale, it will be given a pre-sales service and new MOT and it will come with our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required. The car is of course MOT exempt, Road Tax Free and ULEZ compatible and should be a good investment for the future, as there are not that many of these on the road and certainly not in this condition.
