Codenamed ‘Esmerelda’ during its production at Aston Martin ‘The Gypsy Princess with a heart of gold’ was an engineering miracle in its own right.

The ‘Vantage’ was designed and engineered to capture the eye of potential customers that leaned towards the like of the mass-produced Porsche 911, offering a British designed, hand built and crafted alternative with an Aston Martin V8 naturally aspirated engine mounted more centrally and combined with the transaxle at the rear, resulting in the near perfect 50/50 weight distribution to enhance the handling characteristics.

Project ‘Esmerelda’ took this one big step further, and in a feat of engineering genius managed to shoehorn the all alloy Aston Martin V12 6.0 litre (Producing 565 bhp) into the engine bay without having to make any external body modifications save for extra bonnet vents to aid its breathing.

This resulted in an astonishing 0-60mph of just 3.9 seconds and a top speed claimed to be in excess of 200mph.

This particular car is finished in unmarked and very popular 'Tungsten Silver' with an Obsidian black interior with silver stitching. In addition, and to keep the body work in 1st class condition, it has protective film around the areas most at risk from stone chips, the lower front wings, front spoiler and leading edges around the rear wheel arches. This film is unmarked and reflects the beautiful condition of the car , having clearly been cherished by its previous keepers.
