This great looking example, chassis 533/R was originally sold, new in Dark Blue to Newton Butler of Illinois, USA. In December 1960.The extensive history file that comes with this historic car charts its life through the next 60 years; Through its different owners and 2 colour changes, from blue to red and now metallic green. Over the years the interior has remained mostly unchanged from its original Fawn leather, with the only change been the original Motorola radio which has been replaced with a Becker unit.During the ownership of Mr Rawe, 2008/2009 it had a replacement uprated 4.2lt engine fitted, which included a third SU carburettor, rebalanced crank, gas-flowed head, Cosworth pistons and new valves for unleaded fuel. During the same period the gearbox was stripped and rebuilt and extensive bodywork was carried.The history file contains some important documents including:• Original build sheet• Letter from Aston Martin’s historian.• Copy of the original DOT log book• Copy of Aston Martin RegisterThe file also includes numerous invoices of work carried, totalling in excess of £100,000 spent.
