Description

Leather Trim, Electric Windows, Centre Lock Wheels, 15'' Alloy Wheels, Black Vinyl Soft Top, Folding Roof, Leather Mota-Lita Steering Wheel, Rear Drum Brakes, Front Disc Brakes, 4 Speed Gearbox with Overdrive, Sports Exhaust System, ULEZ COMPLIANT, Kenlowe Electric Fan, Tonneau Cover DEPOSIT TAKEN: 31/05/2023 This beautiful MGB was first registered in November 1978 and was purchased by the current Classic Car collector and professional 25 years ago and was correctly and professionally converted to chrome bumpers over twenty years ago by Classic Coach Builders to his very detailed specification. Since then, it has been kept at his house in Catalunya in Spain with only the odd trip back to the UK for MOT test's and servicing. It is finished in British Racing Green with Grey leather seats piped in Black together with new Black carpets, a Black Leather Mota-Lita Steering Wheel, Electric Windows conversion, early dashboard, centre console and gear knob and very early rear lights, all correct for an earlier chrome bumper car. It also has a modified 1950cc engine with polished and ported head, Half race camshaft, twin HS6 carbs, aluminium polished rocker cover, tubular manifold, sports stainless exhaust, Kenlowe Fan, 4 Speed Gearbox with Overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears and new centre lock 15” Mini-lite Alloy Wheels with Michelin XAS 165/15 tyres. In addition, it has MGB GT front springs and a lowering kit at the rear, front and rear anti-roll bars and the ride height is perfect. The car was totally stripped and all exterior panels including front and rear wings, both doors and sills were replaced with new panels as were a number of other panels on the bodyshell and there are lots of invoices in the history file for all parts supplied during the restoration and copies can be found in the documents section on our website advert. In addition, the car had a completely new and bespoke leather interior and all works were carried out by Classic Coachbuilders in Sittingbourne, Kent. The owner was a director of Southern Carburettors and founding director of the SC Parts Group who supply parts for British marques and they did supply a lot of the parts required for this restoration. Since the rebuild, the car has only covered approximately 5,832 miles and it really does drive superbly. This is a very special car in exceptional and very near 'concours' condition throughout and It is with great sadness that the owner is giving us the car to sell for him after 25 years, but he would now like someone else to enjoy his pride and joy! The car is clear on all HPi registers and upon sale it will come with a new MOT (although now exempt) a pre-sales service + our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty. It is also ULEZ exempt and of course Road Tax free and it can be insured very reasonably on a Classic Car Insurance policy - see our Links page for a list of brokers.
