FORD FOCUS RS 2003

My 2003 Focus RS is going up for sale (still need to change plates over etc) but figured I may as well list it here now.

I have owned the car since late 2010 but over the last 3-4 years it has been in dry storage with very little use. The time has come now to part with it as it’s a waste having it sat there not being used and upcoming business plans mean I could do with freeing up some of the money in it.

Build number – 2488

Mileage – 58397 (may go up slightly from moving the car around but is currently on an off-road insurance policy so won’t go up much)

Private plate is currently being removed so will be on its original reg of LC53 KLO

Engine/Gearbox:

Currently running approx. 340bhp (Sabre stage 2 remap)

Large cone air filter fitted in place of original airbox

Primary Designs exhaust manifold (ceramic coated)

BCS 3” decat pipe (ceramic coated)

Primary Designs exhaust from flexi back (In my opinion one of the best sounding exhaust for these cars and set me back in the regions of £2k when first purchased)

Roose Motorsport boost hoses

Forge Motorsport recirculating dump valve

Forge Motorpsort uprated actuator

Uprated chargecooler radiator

Sachs organic clutch (fitted by Sabre at the time of remapping)

Black header tank cover

Carbon spark plug cover with build number

Factory fitted pink throttle cable grommet

Chargecooler pump was replaced a few years ago for a new unit so the system is in great working order

Brakes/Suspension:

Standard MK1 RS suspension

Standard MK1 RS Brembo calipers but have been fitted with Ferodo DS2500 pads front and rear

Front discs have been upgraded for AP Racing 2-piece discs. Rear discs are standard.

Interior:

Original MK1 RS seats front and back (stitched seat bases from factory and all in excellent condition)

Original MK1 RS front mats (Both in great condition)

Scanguage mounted above rearview mirror

Stack boost gauge fitted into modified instrument surround

Stack AFR gauge fitted into modified vent pod

Retrimmed alcantara steering wheel in original colour scheme but this is showing some wear so would benefit from a retrim (see pics)

Genuine Ford sunblinds fitted to the rear window and both side quarter windows (these are very rare)

Original Ford headunit packed up on me several years ago so it has been replaced with an Alpine single DIN unit I had from another car.

Exterior:

Carbon Fibre front bumper splitter

ST170 Xenon headlights (rewired to suit the RS plug so levelling system works)

Compomotive Alloys finished in dark grey with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all round (Plenty of tread left on these)

Climair wind deflectors

Colour coded door handles

Colour coded mist washer jets

Front bumper brackets have been replaced for stainless steel versions

The car is on its original paintwork so I’m asking people to be thoughtful of the fact it is a 20 year old car and having done a little over 58k, there are some stonechips etc to the paintwork. There is a very small bit of rust on the drivers front wheel arch which I have tried to show in the photos. It hasn’t broken through the paint yet and it hasn’t got any worse in the last couple of years as I’ve always made sure the car goes away nice and dry.

The underneath of the car is again original and hasn’t had any restoration work done but for a 20 year old car it is a very clean and honest example.

The car has always been serviced regularly with high quality oil and genuine Ford parts where possible. There are stamps in the book from the previous owner but since my ownership I have serviced it myself as I am incredibly fussy with who I let work on the car. I have kept records (dates and mileages etc) for any services I have done.

I also have a folder full of receipts and old MOT certificates and the car also comes complete with its spare key and original RS wallet.

I am advertising the car for £19,500 and I feel this is a fair price for a car which has been well looked after, has been an incredibly reliable car and has never been abused on track. As mentioned above it is a very clean and honest example and it is getting harder to find these cars with this kind of mileage on.
