1988 BMW 3 SERIES

First registered April 1988 (E Reg) this exceptionally original BMW 325i (E30) Manual Convertible has, as far as we can determine, been kept locally since new, apart from a brief sojourn to the Swindon area between 2014 and 2015. Finished in excellent Alpine White with Black Hood and Grey Black Sports Interior. With a very modest 73,800 miles recorded, which believe to be correct. The MoT History would suggest that since 2008 less than 10,000 miles have been covered. The general condition of the car suggests it has been very well cared for and garaged. Factory specification includes: M Sport Steering Wheel, Sports Seats, Overhead Check System and Electric Windows. The BMW E30 3-series was first introduced in 1982, with the BMW built convertible version joining the line-up in 1988. Unlike the bulky Baur roll cage E30 convertibles that preceded it, the BMW factory-built convertibles used a strengthened windscreen to provide a cleaner and more attractive design and distinctive roof down profile. E30 convertibles manufactured between 1988 and early 1990 are considered the models to own as they were produced after the last major design update (1987 - often called Series 2) and before the final minor revision in late 1990 that moved away from chrome to colour coded bumpers and introduced a less desirable taillight configuration. BMW E30 3 series had a large variety of inline four and six-cylinder engine options. The 325i was the most desirable of the mainstream production six-cylinder engine option, producing a distinctive and smooth purr. The E30 is considered one of the car design icons of the 1980s. Letters on file suggest that the car was originally supplied new by Chandlers of Angmering. Although in recent years the car has been used sparingly and used for investment with a house purchase (and wife) forcing sale. This vehicle has been been inspected and service by a well renowned local BMW Dealer with the following works: Inspection 2 Service, including Valve clearances, Transmission Oil, Coolant and Brake Fluid Change, New Fan Belt, Cam Belt and Pulley plus new Water Pump. We have also fitted the Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 head unit which looks fantastic. In all, this is an excellent and unmolested example of a six-cylinder E30 and with 170 bhp at the wheels it is no slouch either. With the Motorsport examples of this model regularly selling for over 30,000 we feel this example is well priced and should only appreciate if properly cared for.
