Description

In 2018 I was asked by my old friend Amanda Stretton to find an immaculate, matching numbers manual Z/28 and I found this incredible low mileage mint car originally sold by Camaro racing legend Stuart Graham. This is what Octane Magazine said in their nine page feature on ANB 253M:
"What Simon/Amanda had found was a real unicorn; a very low mileage, extremely original example of the ‘hot’ Camaro, the Z/28. Chevrolet built only 7199 of them in ’68 and the survival rate is in the low hundreds. Introduced in 1967 to take on Ford’s Mustang, the stock Camaro spawned a variety of souped-up versions, of which the Z/28 was the top of the tree.” Octane Magazine March 2023
Chassis 418930 was built 10th April 1968. Born manual, with Black standard bucket interior and British Green exterior as it sits today this is a full matching numbers car. This is confirmed in a heritage certificate issued from the Classic Camaro Club.
The car was imported into the UK and in January 1974 Stuart Graham sold ANB 253M to a local publican, George Sumner. By the mid 70’s Stuart Graham, the only person to win a TT race on both two and four wheels, was achieving great success in Group 1 Touring Cars with a Camaro, winning the big capacity class in 1974 and ‘75 and third overall in BTCC. Stuart and his brother Chris specialised in trading American Cars.
In 1986 Stuart Graham bought the car back for the second time before selling it onto Eric Price.
Eric Price was well known to both Stuart and Chris Graham from their days at Rolls Royce where Eric worked in the paint division.
“Eric had his own paint shop by then and used to do any paintwork for us including our first racing Camaro, the Faberge BRUT 33 Group 1 car in the early 70’s. He just like the car as a showpiece and stripped it down and restored it like new including a bare metal repaint to make it perfect. The body was rust free and the interior all original according to Eric” Stuart Graham confirmed to Amanda soon after she purchased the car.
Eric kept ANB 253M for 32 years before selling the car to Amanda in 2018. At that point the car only had 21,000 miles on the clock and Amanda has added a further 2000 miles. In her ownership ANB 253M has been maintained meticulously presenting a car that is not only faultless but immaculate.
Why is she selling? Because she felt guilty putting on the miles she wanted to…..
This is an incredible opportunity to buy what Octane Magazine suggest might be “one of the most remarkably untouched examples of a 1968 Z/28 to be found anywhere – including the States.”
The car is priced to find its next custodian at £84,000
