1971 Jaguar XK140 by Aristocat

Built with Jaguar's written permission, the Aristocat uses all Jaguar components housed in a steel spaceframe chassis. For ease of build the Aristocat uses the XJ Series suspension, un-modified, resulting in the car being five inches wider than the XK120 or XK140, but only one inch wider than the XK150. The additional width, added down the centre of the car, allows for a more spacious cockpit and boot than the originals and drivers of well over six feet can be easily accommodated.

This 1971 registered Aristocat XK140 is presented in matte black, built on a XJ6 Series I as per the UK registration document, this example has been built to be used as a fast road alternative to having a real XK140. The engine was built six years ago at a cost in excess of £5,000 and has only covered 12 miles since then due to the vendors ill health. A 3.4 litre Jaguar engine with blue printed bottom end, fully balanced with a fast road Stage 2 head and Kent fast road cams which are all coupled to a E-Type four-speed manual gearbox. The exhaust system is a full stainless-steel example built by 0JZ at the cost of £2,500 with the suspension from the Jaguar XJ6 to the front and rear and coupled to an XJS 3.6 litre manual power lock differential. Requiring some further minor recommissioning and a little TLC, this example can be finished as per a period XK140 or you could carry on down the path of the ‘rat look’ fast road weapon, either way it is an inexpensive entry into that fabulous 3.4 litre Jaguar engine and a lot of fun.
