BMW Z8

The BMW Z8 is one of the most recognisable and collectible sports cars of the last 20 years. After bursting onto the automotive scene at the 1997 Tokyo Auto Show and as a “Bond Car” in 1999’s blockbuster The World Is Not Enough, the spiritual successor to the legendary BMW 507 saw worldwide production of just 5,703 examples between 1999 and 2003.

Offering more than just exclusivity, the Z8 was also exceptionally well-engineered with a lightweight aluminium space frame chassis and body panels. This advanced design was paired with the M5-derived 400-hp V-8 engine, and the Z8 bested even the Ferrari 360 Modena in contemporary acceleration tests. The exterior styling, a tour de force of Bauhaus minimalism by Henrik Fisker, helped to create an overall package that caused such a sensation when it was launched, and early demand dramatically outstripped supply.

The car we are thrilled to offer for sale was completed on the 7th November, 2000 and delivered new to a U.K. based collector via Italian dealer BMW Trebicar in January 2001. It is finished in the iconic “James Bond” colourway of Titan Silver over a Black Nappa leather interior and features a Black fabric folding soft-top hood as well as a matching Titan Silver hard-top.

Nearly every comfort and convenience option were included as standard with the Z8, including an electrically adjustable steering column, satellite navigation, air conditioning, six-way electrically adjustable sport seats, and a 10-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system with six-disc CD changer.

The car remained with its first owner until late 2018 when it was sold through ourselves to its second and current owner who has enjoyed the car for the last 5 years. It has been very well cared for by its two owners and maintains a full BMW service history from new, most recently being serviced in October, 2022 where BMW Cambridge carried out an Inspection 1 service and MOT.

It maintains a detailed history file documenting its original purchase and import to the U.K. as well as servicing invoices and previous MOT certificates. The car retains its original matching hardtop roof as well as the roof stand, original books, sales brochure, and a host of other accompanying accoutrements.
