Named Motor Trend magazine�s �Car of the Year� for 1982, the 2+2-seater was considerably lighter, had better handling, and was more aerodynamic than its predecessor. Available in four-cylinder, V6, and V8 guises, the latter proved the most popular. The Camaro's design owed nothing to previous generations.
