Description

Assembled on 1 December 1969, it's a matching numbers example, retaining its original factory colour and verified by a Heritage Certificate. With approximately 88,300 miles on the clock (up from 62,330 when acquired in 2015), this E-Type has been regularly enjoyed for tours and road trips, and has been upgraded and maintained throughout by a very careful and meticulous owner. 2003/4 Restoration: At 45,000 miles, Alan Carrington Sports Cars performed a full restoration, documented with photos and receipts on file. Regular Servicing: CF Autos, an E-Type specialist in Kent, has maintained it consistently since. 2019/20 Bodywork: New floors, reinforced Martin Robey sills, and a refreshed battery carrier area were fitted, followed by a partial repaint. In 2020, a minor 10mph front-end nudge prompted a new £10k bonnet from Jaguar Classic, new picture frame, engine frames, plus a full repaintall diligently recorded. Engine: Rebuilt in 2004 and enhanced for longevity: 2015: Zircotec exhaust manifold. 2016: Accuspark distributor and Distributor Doctor rotor arm. 2018: Radtec aluminium radiator (refurbished 2023), CoolKat fan assembly, and ACR-type alternator (replaced 2022). 2021: Digital SU fuel pump and stainless steel water pipes. 2023: New inlet manifold. A 2019/20 overhaul included a cylinder bore hone, new rings, and a Payen head gasketonly about 10,500 miles ago. Gearbox: The original 4-speed gearbox, overhauled in 2003/4, received a new clutch, master cylinder, and slave cylinder in 2020. Suspension: Upgraded with Gaz adjustable front dampers (2024), a high-ratio steering rack (2020), polybushed anti-roll bars, and fresh Dunlop SP Sport tyres (2022). Brakes: Updated with a new master cylinder, servo, and reservoirs over the last eight years, with regular fluid changes. Interior: Features Saville Grey leather and vinyl trim from 2010, complemented by a dark blue mohair hood from 2016. All gauges and electrics work perfectly. Exterior: Partially repainted in 2019/20 and fully repainted in 2020, the bodywork and paint are in fantastic condition, reflecting the care lavished on this car. Comprehensive service history and restoration photos since 2003. Perma-Bag winter cover, cotton cover, original steering wheel, two-piece luggage set, and hood storm cover. Jaguar books, spares (e.g., an air filter), and a 'get-you-home' kit. Boot contents: Wire wheel with a nearly new Dunlop SP Sport tyre, jack, tools, spare hoses, and fluids. If you've been lucky enough to drive a lot of classic cars, you'll be familiar with that feeling you get, usually within the first minute of being behind the wheel, that tells you you're driving a really 'proper' example. It's in the way the car starts, how the engine hums, how the gear change feels, how tight the suspension feels with no knocks, rattles or squeaks. It's a great feeling, and this E-Type gives it to you immediately.
