Description
I bought this wonderful pickup truck new in November 2014 and have been the only owner and driver. It has been meticulously looked after and serviced more often than required. The sparkling chilly orange paintwork and the black leather interior are in fantastic condition. It has a brand new MOT, new Michelin Crossclimate tyres, and new top of the range brake discs and pads from EBC. Only 68516 carefully driven miles.
The 3.2L turbo charged 5 cyl diesel engine delivers 197 BHP and a huge 470 Nm of torque for effortless towing. The 6 speed automatic transmission with sports mode includes grade logic control which provides engine braking when driving downhill, and brake support which enables early downshift during heavy braking. The 4x4 system with high and low ratio is operated by an electronic shift on the fly control which allows switching between 2WD high and 4WD high whilst driving, and includes a locking rear differential.
Being a fully loaded Wildtrak, the truck is equipped with 18” alloy wheels and a full size alloy spare, front fog/driving lights, automatic dusk sensing headlights, automatic rain sensing wipers, automatic dual zone climate control, a 6 speaker audio system with bluetooth and hands free phone and voice control, an auto dimming rear view mirror with rear view camera, power adjust and fold heated wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators and puddle lamps, an 8-way power driver’s seat with lumber, a leather steering wheel with control switches, centre console with cool box, ambient mood lighting, Wildtrak partial leather ebony interior, parking sensors, cruise control, bedliner, sports bar, roof rails, and a lockable roller shutter tonneau cover.
Active safety is delivered via a comprehensive electronic stability program (ESP) to aid vehicle control which includes an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (EBA) which maintains maximum brake pressure in emergency situations, emergency brake light (EBL) which flashes the indicators when the vehicle decelerates quickly, traction control, roll over mitigation (ROM), load adaptive control (LAC), trailer sway assist (TSA) to provide stability and greater control when towing a trailer, hill descent control (HDC) and hill launch assist (HLA).
Passive safety includes dual front and full length curtain airbags, belt minder system, 3-point seat belts in all 5 seats, ISOFIX points for child car seats, side impact protection, drive away automatic door locking with crash unlocking, and a volumetric burglar alarm with immobiliser.
The aftermarket tow bar is a high quality GDW tow bar with ConWys towing electrics which seamlessly integrate into the Ranger's factory installed towing harness and computer to activate the Truck's Trailer Sway safety system when towing.
I have included a copy of the original Ford Ranger brochure in the photos which includes a long, long list of specifications for you to peruse.
As with any car, there are a few stone chips and minor scratches (all have been touched up), and for transparency there is one small dent over the rear left wheel arch which you would probably not see unless it is pointed out.
I purchased the truck brand new in November 2014 when I was living and working in Malaysia. It is UK spec but was originally registered in Malaysia. When I moved back to the UK I personally imported it which involved a comprehensive DVLA inspection to ensure it met with UK standards. Being UK spec it passed effortlessly. It has never had any mechanical issues (other than needing new front wheel speed sensors which were very easy to replace) and has passed all MOTs, including the most recent test less than one month ago. I have lots of paperwork to demonstrate the truck’s UK and Malaysian history.
The one telltale sign that it was originally registered in Malaysia is that the odometer is in Kilometres. The speedo was easily converted for import and so is in miles per hour as usual, but for obvious reasons you are not allowed to change the odometer. The current odometer reading is 110266 km which is equivalent to 68516 miles. Being in Kilometres presents no problems whatsoever and the DVLA / MOT testers handle it with ease.
…and, unlike many other pick up trucks for sale, there is no VAT for you to pay. The price you see is the price you pay.
