Description
1988 registration = F327 EAX
VIN number = WDB1070412A085900
It now has only 3 years remaining before it becomes exempt from road tax.
My first classic car was bought from the SL Shop at a premium of £27k in April 2024. Please note that I am advertising my car at £22k ono, due to a recognition that the market is very sluggish at present, and to scratch my itch for an SLK to replace our beloved SL on the grounds of practicality, to save my wife's back when removing the hard top.
--
Fully taxed and insured until April 2026.
It passed its MOT in December 2024, when it also had a full service, including oil and air filters, with NO ADVISORIES.
112k on the odometer - 108k on purchase in April 2024
Currently garaged (and kept under a car cover - included with the car - when not used).
Both sets of keys, the fire extinguisher, and the original toolkit are all included.

Original Smoke Silver has a beige MB Tech interior with a brown hood and factory hardtop in a matching colour - stand included.
—
I've included a service book, old MOT certificates, and invoices for previous work. This is further verified with a note from the previous owner, which details what has been repaired or replaced, which includes a brake service, new tyres, new headlight bulbs, and new wipers in 2021, new spark plugs and a cable replacement for the soft top in 2023, and a new battery fitted in 2025.

SL Shop Assured technician’s report identified only minor issues:
- Minor gearbox oil leak - since resolved after the gasket was replaced by Tameside Transmissions on the 9th of April 2025
- The rear boot lock was identified as not being able to lock. However, this is not the case, as it locks both centrally and independently
- Radio fails to tune in - since resolved after a new car stereo was fitted in 2024
- factory-fitted AC (which is rare on the 300sl) blowing warm rather than cold
- a blue blemish on the optional rear seat
—
The only outstanding issue is a tear to the mohair roof, which two soft top specialists have separately assessed and advised needs replacing since it cannot be repaired, for £1500 plus VAT.
I am selling this car as is, so the buyer could drive it as a coupe with the hard top, or source a new soft top themselves, and I have factored this into my price, given that the SL Shop sold me this vehicle without informing me the soft top had likely been stowed away for the best part of 2 years.
