HONDA INTEGRA TYPE-R DC5 Showroom exterior, mechanically solid & sound
Show room condition factory standard 2002 Honda Integra Type R DC5 in Championship White with black interior. The car has had a full respray in the original paint, all badges have been replaced and new headlights. It is absolutely stunning and looks like it’s just rolled out of the showroom.
I have owned the Integra for the last 13 years and when I set out on buying an Integra I was very picky on the type and condition I would buy. Back when I bought this there were a few more for sale than nowadays, but a lot of them were modified, had high mileage and differing conditions mechanically and paintwork. The one I bought was most certainly the best I could find, it was factory standard, had only 39,000 miles on the clock, the paintwork was immaculate (having been previously owned by a detailer) and mechanically all was in order. In my opinion, this interior finish is also the best with black seats, having a bit more subtlety and a little less of the ‘boy racer’ feel than some of the other finishes.
The sale is reluctant, forced by us moving to the coast and I refuse to bring a car of this condition in to a salty air environment. It’s just in too good a condition and I will sell this to another enthusiast and someone who will look after it as well as myself.
To go through some of the history of the car, it was was first registered in Japan on 1st October 2002, it was then imported to the UK and registered on 6th Nov 2007. I have owned the car since 9th November 2012. The car is factory standard, except for the stereo which has CD player, radio and USB port.
Except for the front shock absorbers and tie rod ends, all parts used for servicing and repair are new Honda OEM parts, I made a point of sourcing original parts as I wanted to keep it in original condition and make sure the right quality products were used.
The work I’ve had done in the last 9 years where the car has only covered 14,000 miles is as follows:
The exhaust had a new mid-section around 2016, but this is the only receipt I can’t locate.
New discs, pads and brake fluid – August 2018
Gear box oil changed – August 2018
New track rod ends front and back – August 2018
New primary oxygen sensor – May 2019
New front shock absorbers and tie rod ends – January 2021 – sourced from TGM Motor Sports as there were no Honda original parts available in the market
New battery – July 2021
Full re-spray, including new badges, stickers, side repeaters and headlights – August 2024
For services, I originally used Mobile 1 5w40 oil, but for the past 9 years I’ve been using Millers Nanodrive 5w40 and Denso Iridium Tough spark plugs.
The full re-spray was something I’d be working up to for a few years, sourcing new headlights, side repeaters and all new badges too. The paintwork was still in good condition, but there were the usual stone chips and I was sick of polishing the washed out and misted headlights. Like anything, with age things start to look a bit tired. I used a premium paint shop for the re-spray, they sourced the original Honda Championship White paint and it looks absolutely spectacular!
I haven’t had the engine bay re-sprayed as can be seen from the pictures, showing the honesty of the car. I have kept the old lights and the badges and they will go with the sale of the car – you’ll see the boxes piled up in the boot.
The inside of the car is in great condition, very clean and tidy seat fabrics, floor mats and dashboard. The car has the push button start, rear parcel shelf and spare wheel. The tyres are Continental ContiSport Contact 5 and have loads of tread left on them. The mileage is 80,090 miles and may go up by a few miles.
Over the 13 years I’ve owned the car it has been looked after meticulously and anything that needed to be done has been done. Mechanically the car is in sound condition, it needs nothing doing to it and is ready to drive away. I always make sure the engine is warmed up before revving it hard or going in to VTEC, the gear synchros are all perfect and VTEC engages in all gears.
I had the car MOT’d on the 25th April, it passed with no advisories, along with engine oil and oil filter service. I also had the garage put on a coat of underseal whilst it was in – the engineers took some pictures of the car from the pit so you can see the overall condition and you’ll see there’s a glean as the underseal is still wet.
There is so much paperwork that comes with the car, showing all the services over the years (from myself and previous owners), along with the original Japanese manual, service book, import details and immobiliser fitment.
I have taken lots of pictures of the car so the overall condition and quality can be seen, along with a picture of each wheel and the full interior. If there are any spots on the pictures that will be what’s picked up on the road when I drove it before taking the pictures. The paintwork is nothing short of perfect.
As this is an honest appraisal of the car, the drivers seat bolsters are a bit worn along with a bit of the drivers floor mat and carpet, and the fabric on the drivers door has started to drop down from the panel it should be fixed behind, though this shouldn’t be a big fix. After the respray, frustratingly I dropped a tool on the frame that the door sits in, it’s only a small chip, but I want to point it out.
The car has never broke down and it has not been in any accidents.
The car is kept in a clean and dry garage in Coventry, I’ve taken pictures so it can be seen the environment it’s stored in when not in use.
The car is sold with the two sets of keys and one other key (the electronic bit of that key is broken) and the private plate.
The car has been so well looked after this must be one of, if not the best, in the country.
If it wasn’t for relocating to the coast I would not be selling the car. The car is priced to reflect my desire for a quick sale. The price is not open to negotiation and viewings will need to be pre-arranged at least two days in advance.
