2003 RENAULT CLIO 172 16V

Here for sale is a fine example of one of the greatest hot hatches to have ever been produced. This is my 2003 “Iceberg Silver” Phase 2 Renault Clio 172, which has covered just over 82,700 miles - this will rise slightly.

This car is by far one of the most standard Clio sports I’ve personally seen, the only things that have been changed are the air filter and exhaust system. It now sports a pipercross long-life filter kit, and a lovely sounding miltek downpipe/sports cat paired with the rather rare Oreca group N backbox, this combination enhances the lovely sound of the F4R, especially in the higher rev range.

Recently (1st April), I took the 172 to Rentech Portsmouth to have all major service components replaced, as it had been around 5 years since the cambelt/dephaser had been done - in this time it had only covered a few thousand miles but I wanted to make sure this car was ready to go and needed no major expenses.

I then had the wheels refurbished in a silver powdercoat at wheel revive uk, and subsequently wrapped them in brand new uniroyal rainsport 5’s which grip the road excellently. Along with this, the car has just been fully detailed and ceramic coated (12mo).

There are some age related marks, like some stone chipping on the bonnet, and a small scratch on the O/S rear arch.

The car has 12 months MOT, and is ready to hop in and drive away.

I really think that this car is best suited to an enthusiast/purist, on the basis of its originality, provenance - the car has the original bill of sale in its extensive history file which shows that the cup wheels were chosen at the point of sale.
