Designed by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet, the DB7 was introduced to the world at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. It featured a straight-six engine based on the Jaguar AJ6. Positioned below the V8 Virage, the DB7 was Aston Martin's entry-level model.

Over its nearly 10-year production run, the DB7 became the highest-produced Aston Martin ever, with approximately 7,000 cars rolling off the line. This specific car is an early 1995 model fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
