Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at Wheeler Dealer Live 2025 on Sunday the 1st of June, Bicester Heritage, OX26 5HA.
With coachwork in Aluminium by A P Metalcraft, body #1071 was despatched from the Alvis factory on 10/10/1950 as a left-hand drive model, one of only 100
It was supplied new in left-hand drive finished in British Racing Green, but with the headlights adjusted to UK requirements
Little is known of its early history until discovered partly dismantled in a Manchester warehouse, painted red and rescued by Colin Newby in the 1990s
He subsequently restored the car, fitted a new interior etc. and there are many bills on file for works, parts etc. along with a photo record
It was later sold to Andrew Morton in November 1995 for £11,650
Purchased by our vendor's late father in December 1999 and placed in their private museum Collection with hardly any use. Last actively used on a rally to Holland in 2015
Recommissioning will be required before active use
It's supplied with an excellent article featuring the car from Classic and Sports Car 1995, a photographic record of the bare metal restoration, the Continuation 'buff' logbook, its original radio and a fitted cover
