What can say about this car...
***I'm selling - and pricing! this as 'spares/repairs' as although it still has a valid MOT till 6.6.25 it will need some front suspension work to get through another. It is nevertheless still in daily use and runs really well.
Bought as a temporary stop-gap car from a pensioner neighbour who gave up driving. He'd had it from new (as a pre-reg) and had done 50k miles. 5 years and 40k miles on and it's still with me, having been totally reliable and hasn't cost a bean apart from general maintenance. It goes really well, is great fun to drive (it's the manual 2.0 TwinSpark 150bhp version). The yellow abs EPS and engine warning lamps are on, but have been on for as long as I have owned the car and doesn't seem to signify anything drastic. It has never been smoked in. The remote locking and alarm work when they feel like it. I usually just lock/unlock with the key.
The black leather interior is in great condition with no tears or marks. The windscreen has no chips or cracks. All four tyres are good with plenty of tread on them and the 16" alloy wheels are in pretty good straight shape with just the usual kerb marks here and there. All the lights are intact. The aircon blows cold. The tool kit and spare wheel are all intact. There is a full book pack and part-stamped service history, and lots of receipts for work done over the years. The sills and floors were welded last year (under the rear doors where they are notorious for rotting) so the body is now solid. The rear uprights (again, notorious weak spots on these) were replaced a couple of years ago.
Now for the less good bits...
Obviously, the front suspension needs attention for MOT.
There is only one key.
The paintwork is in pretty poor condition and has gone 'dull' on several panels. There are 'pensioner' scrapes on the bumpers but no dents.
My yellow labrador has been in the boot a few times and left hair which I can't be bothered to vacuum out at this price. I should add however that it doesn't smell of wet dog or anything.
There is a very minor blow from the back box of the exhaust somewhere.
So there you go. If you can see past the paintwork, don't mind getting the front suspension fixed, and willing to spend a few minutes and some elbow grease putting a hoover to the boot, how much more fun can you buy for £250?
Absolutely no timewasters and no offers (the wheels and interior must be worth 400 notes on their own!). I'm happy to email photos of anything I haven't been able to upload here.
With a small amount of work would make a great cheap fun-to-drive car. And until 6th June you can drive it home!
I will add a few more photos in the next day or two
