The 1.6 litre, 16-valve engine developed some 120 bhp, sufficient for a claimed maximum speed of 118mph and 0-62mph time of just 9.6 seconds, 34 mpg being apparently achievable too. It had the option of a five-speed manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox.
