1989 FERRARI 412

An exceptional manual example, one of only twenty one supplied in right hand drive to the UK that has covered less than 20,000 miles in the hands of five owners from new.

The car was produced in February 1989 for the UK market importer Maranello Concessionaires and was supplied by their Sales Department to the first owner at the end of March that year, it retains the original registration number F79 PPC. This is all recorded in the original Ferrari factory build records and invoice from Maranello Sales Ltd when new which are in the extensive history file.

The Ferrari remained with the original owner for a year until April 1990, he covered just 5,000 miles in that time as recorded on the purchase invoice by Kensworth Garage. The second owner took delivery of the car in November of that year, again this is recorded in the sales invoice on file.

This second owner clearly loved the Ferrari as he retained it until 2008, the mileage increasing to 17,400 miles during his ownership. During this time the Ferrari was well maintained with many invoices from Maranello on file along with specialist, Kent High Performance Cars.

In 2008 the car was bought by rock legend Pete Townsend who retained it until 2017. During this time the Ferrari saw minimal use, the mileage rising to about 18,600 miles but it was clearly looked after exceptionally well as detailed in the many invoices from Maranello in this period.

In 2017 a true enthusiast of the model purchased the GT, this being the best example he had seen for some time. Despite the car’s very good original order and low mileage he embarked on a major renovation programme, entrusting the highly regarded marque experts GTO Engineering to perfect the 412. The many invoices on file detail the work completed which included a bare metal strip and respray in Rolls Royce Velvet Blue, a complete retrim and a great deal of mechanical work as required including suspension overhaul and engine bay refinish and detail. The work was completed in 2019 at a cost of more than £70,000.

Since completion the Ferrari has seen minimal use, the mileage rising to 19,500 today. It has continued to be properly stored and maintained by GTO Engineering again, this being detailed on file.

Today the 412 presents beautifully, is immaculate and unmarked and drives exactly as it should with all ancillaries working correctly. It comes with the above-mentioned history file that documents its life from new to date. I doubt there is another example like this.
