2009 KTM X-BOW

KEY FACTS

• Extremely high-specification example of KTM’s first ever sports car, finished in the marque’s signature hue and equipped with OEM performance modifications

• Under the bonnet is an Audi-derived 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, fitted with the optional tuning package from the renowned and approved tuning company ABT, increasing BHP to 300bhp and an even more impressive 388Nm of torque. The rear wheels are driven via a six-speed manual transmission with the optional short-throw gear linkage.

• The odometer reads a mere 11,752 miles from new.

• Built in 2009, it was imported to the UK and registered in January 2011, and has been owned by myself for last 10 years.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Unusually, this X-Bow is equipped with all three aerodynamic packages from the factory at significant expense, with carbon-fibre wheel spats, carbon front wing covers and canards, a carbon spoiler and rear diffuser among the highlights.

• This X-Bow also has the full carbon underfloor package, with all three separate pieces (front, centre, and rear).

• Its paint finish is the triple-layer Adrenaline Orange Pearl, and the car has colour-coded five-spoke alloy wheels; 17-inch at the front and 18-inch at the rear.

• An ABT Performance Package and Backdraft exhaust system was also fitted by a KTM dealer for the previous owner, increasing power and torque to deliver even more thrilling performance and enhancing the engine note.

• I have never seen another KTM with so many of the carbon options and the performance package, and this is quite possibly the highest OEM specification X-Bow in the UK in right-hand drive and year.

• This example will be supplied with its owner’s manual, build certificate and supporting service history documenting services from 2013 to 2024.

CONDITION

• Even the fussiest of enthusiasts will not fault the condition aside from the below disclaimers.

• The Adrenaline Orange pearl paintwork is in original condition, and paint protection film (PPF) has been applied. A couple of stone chips are visible on the front bumper, while some light scratches are seen on the carbon-fibre tub from entering and exiting the X-Bow. These marks are to the PPF and not the carbon-fibre itself.

• The spartan interior remains in excellent condition.

• There are no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard and no mechanical faults.

• The most recent MOT test was on 18th July 2024. This was a first-time pass, with advisories for both offside and nearside track rod end ball joint dust covers.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent service was carried out on 09th October 2024 at 11,620 miles by Collins of Probus in Cornwall. In addition to the engine oil and air filter. The brakes were also checked over and the undertray was removed to remove debris including small stones. An additional set of Toyo R888r were purchased and the car is currently running these. The Mitchelin Pilot Sports are in storage and are better used for the winter months.

• This KTM X-Bow is a superb example of a very rare lightweight sports car; one which offers considerable thrills both on road and track. It has an extensive specification with a raft of costly carbon-fibre components and the 300bhp Performance Package, boasts a comprehensive maintenance history, and is ready to put a huge smile on the face of its next owner – and a great investment
