The Porsche 911 has long been considered one of the most complete and definitive driver's cars. The sixth generation 997 incarnation of the 911 was revised in 2004 following the success paved by the 996 models, which did much to enhance the 911's reputation for both usability and drivability. With smoother and more refined styling, and increased power and tech, the 997 fulfilled a balanced analogue driving experience, despite the vast innovations and significant driver aids. Retaining its reputation for grip and refinement, the 997 was enhanced by the Carrera S models, which added further dimension to the model. Developing impressive torque and power, the Carrera S variants were also fitted with the desirable Sport Chrono package, PASM and improved braking. Placing the normally aspirated car in the sub 5 second 0-60 mph club, the high-quality materials and exacting engineering standards maintained Porsches' reputation for reliability.
