LOTUS ELAN S4 SE DHC - FASCINATING OWNERSHIP HISTORY!

A Lotus Elan S4 SE DHC in Cirrus white, with a beautiful red leather interior and an interesting story, stretching back over forty years.

The accompanying original green log book shows PFK 701J to have left the factory as an SE specification vehicle that was acquired by a Lotus legend (an eventual ride and handling guru and main board director) before being passed to his dear friend and colleague within Lotus Cars. He, in turn sold the vehicle to another long-standing Lotus employee who kept it and improved it over many years before selling it back to the previous owner. It has, therefore, been in the care of various members of the Lotus inner circle for over four decades. It is not appropriate to mention names but they will be disclosed to qualified buyers, of course.

Along the way, it was treated to a complete respray at the factory and the Lotus Cars trim shop, recognised for its’ outstanding quality and attention to detail, was tasked with providing PFK with its’ beautiful red interior. Recent work has included the replacement of the dashboard, instrument refurbishment, the fitment of an aluminium fuel tank and a thorough inspection and treatment of the chassis.

Accompanying the vehicle is a box file of information, confirming that any parts required in recent years were acquired from only the best sources; almost exclusively from Sue Miller in Suffolk. The aforementioned green logbook and subsequent registration documents are present along with a useful portfolio of bills and receipts. A small supply of spare parts will also accompany the vehicle.

Pleasingly still sporting many of the correct parts including a Colin Chapman inscribed steering wheel, external badging, wheel embellishers and dashboard air vents the vehicle is presented in a well sorted mechanical condition and is ready to enjoy by its’ next owner.
