1982 FORD FIESTA

Advertising on behalf of a customer this Ford Fiesta MK1 XR2. He has done a fair bit of work to it and spent a lot on it but business commitments mean the project has stalled and its up for sale. It will start and run but needs work to get it finished and on the road. We have the V5 here which states Fiesta XR2 on it but not a lot of other paperwork.Body - Fiesta XR2 shell with the bump on the rear panel. Solid inner wings, floors, arches. Bit of surface rust and a couple of pin holes under drivers door seal on sill. Cant see it when seal is on but when its off you can. Paintwork is ok and useable but its definitely not a show car. Bumpers are good, spotlights recently replaced with gen ford ones. Twist clips to secure bumper corners missing.Bumper overriders sourced and fitted, rear number plate lights replaced. Complete Ford lock set including doors, boot and ignition locks. Mechanics - Car will start and run. This engine was rebuilt a god few years back and never used. It apparently has a cam. Compression has been tested and all cylinders are 150-165 psi. The following parts were recently replaced:Parts replacedRear - Drop links, Wheel bearings, Shock absorbers,wheel cylinders, Brake shoes, Handbrake cablesFront -Wheel bearings, Calipers stripped and rebuilt with replacement pistons/seals, Brake discs, Brake pads, Near side drive shaft, Offside drive shaft rebuilt with replacement CV joint, Bottom ball joints, Track rod ends, Brake flexi hoses, Shock absorbers, Rear washer bottle inc pumpGeneral - Poly bushes all round in black to look original. Fuel pump. Engine mount (gearbox end). Various coolant and fuel hoses as required. Radiator recore at Scotrad, Carburettor rebuilt with genuine Weber kit, Accelerator cable. Spark plugs (NGK), Distributor cap, Rotor arm, Gearbox oil replaced, Engine oil and filter, BatteryAdditional work done.Lanoguard sprayed in every accessible opening as work progressed. Work Still to do: Gearbox linkage needs adjusted.Tracking, Bleed brakes, Set up carb mixture / idle, Set up engine timing, Test cooling system, Fit and wire centre console, Paint door/boot stands, Rear defrost not working.Interior - All standard. Drivers seat needs a repair on the seam. All other seats ok but will need a good deep clean once all mechanical work finished. Small tear in headlining on drivers side. Dashboard has no cracks. door cards are good, again just need a deep cleanWheels - standard XR2 Alloys with 185 / 60 / 13 tyres.Fairly easy project to finish off. It will make a solid useable example but not a show car unless you repainted it. You are welcome to come and see the car and we have a ramp so you can inspect it.
