The Car

Ordered new by Aston Martin main dealer Murray Motor Company of Edinburgh and delivered on 10 September 2010, this stock car was ordered in Onyx Black with an Obsidian Black leather interior with Piano Black veneers. Options include silver calipers, an alarm upgrade, 700W premium Bang and Olsen audio, front parking sensors and 10 spoke diamond turned alloy wheels. The transmission is the improved Touchtronic 2 ZF 6HP26 “shift by wire” gearbox. In addition the engines in these later DB9’s do not suffer the “ticking” issues associated with the earlier Cosworth built engines.

It’s History

This DB9 has only covered 28847 miles and has been serviced at Aston Martin main dealers Grange of Essex and HR Owen of Reading up until very recently, where all servicing has since been undertaken by marque specialists Chicane in Hampshire. This results in 16 servicing stamps in the Owners Handbook. The most recent work being a service and inspection carried out by Aston Martin Chichester in May 2025. Inside, everything works as it should and the interior looks barely sat in.

On the Road

These facelifted DB9’s drive superbly with the upgraded chassis providing better resolution of the ride handling compromise than previously. The MY2011 DB9s have the DBS’s adaptive damping system which transforms its ride and levels of road holding to levels previously reserved for sport pack upgrade cars and turns the car into more of a sports car than previously. The interior as well has been subtly improved feeling an even more special place to be with the redesigned front facia stack and glass starting button. Fire up the 6 litre V12 with the glass key and the result is a sublime exhaust note with the instant power delivery and effortless torque that only V12 engines provide.

Conclusion

The MY2011 and MY2012 DB9s are amongst the rarest DB9s as they didn’t make that many of them. The 470bhp V12 engine, the adaptive damping system and subtle improvements to the styling and interior make these phenomenal cars that are terrific value for money. This particular DB9 looks absolutely stunning in its Black on Black colour scheme, colours that really set off the beauty of the DB9’s lines. Yes, we love it!!
