Great opportunity to pick up a very well maintained example of one of the best all round sports cars ever made, with a very high specification – this car has no less than £21k of factory fitted options, plus some further additional OEM options retrofitted.

The 981 was produced from 2012-2016, with the super-reliable MA1 engines which saw Porsche depart from the troublesome M96/M97 engines that came before them, bringing in a fresh new design to eradicate all the issues.

The model has become very sought after, being the last of the Boxster/Cayman models with the iconic flat-six engines before the introduction of the 718 with the turbo flat-four. After the 981 was discontinued, you had to buy a 718 GTS 4.0 (or 718 GT4) to get 6 cylinders….at twice the price!

This car has a huge specification (better than a GTS) and includes all the big options (Sport Chrono, PSE, PASM, BOSE) plus 20” Carrera Classics, PCM 3.1, 14-way electric heated seats, Reversing cam, full Park Assist, full Climate, Cruise, DAB, Power folding mirrors, Porsche crested head rests, and lots, lots more - see photos for full spec.

The first owner chose the options very wisely – the addition of Sport Chrono with the PDK gearbox, coupled with the Porsche Sports Exhaust completely tranforms the Boxster into a real event when you so wish. The Normal, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes and the valved PSE exhaust, along with a superbly engineered and insulated soft top, change the car’s personality drastically – anything from benign and massively usable (with fuel economy up to 40mpg !), through to a focussed, agile, taut-handling, rapid sports car.

I am a very meticulous owner – this car has been extremely well cared for – both cosmetically and mechanically. Always garaged, it has had lots of work done over and above normal servicing, plus regular detailing inside and out to keep it in top condition.

Don’t let the mileage deter you – 981’s are rock solid mechanically and in terms of build, fit and finish, they wear the miles extremely well – this car is impossible to distinguish from a 20-30k example in almost every respect.
