This 2013 model uses the completely redesigned 9A1/MA1 engine with Alusil cylinder blocks that resolved bore score issues. Porsche specialists describe bore score in 981 generation models as extremely rare. The car's South African history also means it never experienced extreme cold climate operation that can contribute to the handful of documented 9A1 failures.

This is a South African C26 specification vehicle, mechanically identical to UK C16 specification models.
