The arrival of the new BMW M2 CS (G87) is the hardcore, driver focused, limited-run swan song for pure combustion in BMW’s M2 car lineup.

The CS borrows the S58 engine tune from its bigger brother, the M4 Competition, making it significantly punchier than the standard M2, there is a 50 bhp increase to 522 bhp and 0-62 mph 3.8 seconds. The "CS" (Competition Sport) badge is all about shedding mass and sharpening reflexes.

It is roughly 30 kg lighter than the standard M2, thanks to extensive use of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) for the roof, bonnet, and a new integrated "ducktail" rear spoiler. Suspension sits 8 mm lower with bespoke tuning for the electronically controlled dampers and M Sport differential.

While total global numbers haven't been strictly capped like a numbered series, production is time-limited. Historically, the UK receives roughly 100 units, making it a very rare sight on British roads.
