Delivered new on 19 November 2019, this well specified, early example of Porsche’s motorsport-inspired, mid-engined sports car is available now in Central London (Battersea). Launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2019, the 718 GT4 represented a significant step forward from the hugely successful 981 GT4 and marked the re-introduction of the much-missed flat six to the 718 model. Porsche modified its 3.0l twin-turbo power plant from the 992 generation 911, removing the turbos and enlarging it to 4.0 litres. The result was 420hp, 310lb ft of torque and a thrilling 8000 rpm redline paired with a 6-speed short-shift manual transmission.

Improvements to the aero package delivered 50% more downforce (with a 981 GT4 matching drag co-efficient of 0.34) and resulted in the 718 GT4 being some 12 seconds faster around the Nurburgring than the 981 GT4 at 7m28s. It’s often forgotten that this is within 1 second of the time set by the legendary 997 GT3 RS 4.0l and the same time as the iconic Carrera GT set in 2004!

Specification is key when it comes to a GT4 and this example has the most important aspects taken care of.

The supportive and lightweight carbon bucket seats were described by Andreas Preuninger as an essential option, and they provide the perfect blend of support and comfort. I would never recommend buying a Porsche GT product without them.

Next up it’s important to see the LED lighting system that enhances the look of the car, and this being an earlier car (pre covid supply issues), this example includes the PDLS+ (Porsche Dynamic Lighting System +) adaptive high beam and road following technology.

Inside, the interior is very well appointed with the optional full leather and contrast yellow stitch throughout. This example features the tasteful addition of matching seat belts, race harness pass throughs and matching brake calipers. Whilst this is usually the hallmark of the PCCB system, they are here in a purely aesthetic capacity and tie the interior and exterior colour scheme together very well.

The car comes from recent enthusiast ownership and will be supplied with its original book pack, full service history and two keys. It currently shows 29k on the odometer, is in excellent condition and shows only a small amount of age-related wear and tear.

Whilst it no longer has a Porsche warranty, it would be possible to complete a 111-point check and have this re-instated, should a custodian wish.
