2008 AUDI R8

I’m looking to move on from my Manual R8 V8. I absolutely love the thing but all cars seem to be rocketing and I’m tempted by an R8 GT or Mclaren and I’m starting to feel it’s now or never after stalling on a 458 and them doubling in price in a year!

I have no reservations saying this is the best V8 in the country. It has been maintained with zero regard to cost. I’m an engineer who is obsessive with perfection - the kind of guy who strips the doors and spends over £200 replacing the felt glass seals because he doesn’t like the smears on the glass at the toll booths. Or who has completely custom speaker brackets CAD modelled and printed to create a perfect OEM+ setup not available on the market.

Full REP inspection with full report and everything addressed 3k miles/4 months ago for buyer peace of mind.

I have done nearly 30k of the miles having the best of times across Europe. It’s lives with a fleet of other old, special and deeply in the red man maths cars from this era that just bring me joy so i don't mind spending on them.

It has been maintained by Ricky and the crew at REP since I’ve had it and they can vouch for the car. A Kawasaki engineer before that.

I have taken the time to list everything from the history below but please do ask me any questions. I have hundreds and hundreds of photos of every bit of the car from over the years.

£30k spent in my ownership addressing all of the issues that will come up on a gen 1. Leaking cooler pipes from the brackets, lights cracking because of the heat, non stainless oil pipes corroding and leaking, oil coller seals going, water pump, clutch, speaker cones giving up, air con pipe cracking and leaking because it is routed in a way that puts stress on it. It has come apart quite a bit to do this work and every bolt has been replaced and copper greased which will save you untold agro in the future!

It is also a very well spec'd example benefiting from the rare half alcantara seats, cruise, heated seats, engine bay lighting, BOSE, Parking sensors front and rear.

I've priced this not only where it makes sense for me to sell but also where I think is fair against what else is currently out there. You could buy one with 20k less miles for the same money or one with the same miles for £5k less. Probably not red either way and certainly not in this condition, with this history and future proofing preventative maintenance.

Red might not be for everyone but it is the rarest non individual colour. Less than 2% are red, over 90% are black, white, grey or silver. It looks twice the car IMO and was the only option for me. I looked for 6 months.

12/07/24 - New V10 darker rear lights. I noticed heat damage when doing the exhaust. These have been heat wrapped underneath to preserve them (£2,000)

31/08/24 - Replaced the window sills because they left the window wet at tolls which annoyed me! Over £200

10/03/25 - All new Compose (made in germany) speakers in the doors with custom made brackets to fit them exactly like the OEM speakers. Sound proofed too (£600)

16/06/25 - fitted the revised aircon pipe as the sensor was leaking and it's a known fault (C revision pipe that goes a differnt route). Changed the condesners too for good measure (£1,350)

09/12/2025 - Bumper, bonnet, A pillar, roof, front grills repainted to remove chips - 6 month wait with really good painter. Looks fantastic!
