Who is driving AP clutch setup / CP2394-14 / CP2346-4 ?
Discussion
Hi there,
looking for someone who is driving the following clutch setup
CP2394-14 is £205.82 - http://www.part-box.com/product_info.php?products_...
CP2346-4 is £138.04 - http://www.part-box.com/product_info.php?products_...
have the necessary parts on hand but i am curious about the new pressure plate :

it seems a flat release bearing can be used with that one compared to the standard
clutch setup.

As the AP setup had been discussed several times i would love to know if somebody is using this combination ? if so is the standard master/slave setup and release bearing used or something different ?
Cheers
Gerd

OK, late to the party, I know...
I am running this AP setup on a 350hp/350lb Ford V8.
No slip, no judder and long life, 16,000 miles now.
Yes, you can use a flat release bearing as standard, but if the clutch action is too long for the bellhousing, i.e. the clutch doesn't fully engage giving slippage under power, the operating length can be shortened by removing the flat plate which rubs against the release bearing. You will then need a round edge release bearing as the release bearing will be resting right on the clutch fingers. You might think that this would cut grooves in the fingers, but after this mileage, there is still no appreciable wear and operation is still smooth. This clutch does need a strong left leg to work it, but you can always increase the pedal ratio or fit a servo.

I am using the MacLeod twin plate clutch.
Can handle up to 800 BHP and is about as light as a standard clutch.
It wasn’t all plain sailing as it was very heavy in the first place necessitating the fitting of a servo.
Recently sent the whole lot back to McLeod who reworked the pressure plate and it is now what it should be!
Should wear very well with the twin plates. When I took it out after about 5000 miles there wasn’t any noticeable wear on the friction plates.
Servo now removed and the feel of it is so much better then with it.

Car is now in bits of pieces due to the lack of knowledge and craftmanship of a so called hungarian workshop
Looking like the company is out of business anyway but my lawyer is going to have some fun with them
Is this the same company from where I obtained my QD bonnet hinges? Shame and good luck!Car is now in bits of pieces due to the lack of knowledge and craftmanship of a so called hungarian workshop
